Our babies are almost a year old! Eric, myself, Levi and Vivian are headed for Cinncinnatti Ohio the day before their birthday to have Dr Cotton, the best airway surgeon, do an evaluation of Vivian's tracheal problems and propose a plan for reconstruction. We have recently learned that our insurance is coming up on the cap. Other than the trach, they are doing great! Vivian is cruising along furniture and climbing the stairs, and Levi get's anywhere he wants by "Commando Crawling". They have done follow up appointments with the NICU developmental clinics, and their cognitive abilities are good, and their motor skills are not delayed at all past their prematurity, which is the best news we could ever hear! We still have a huge empty spot where Eric should be. When I look at their carseats next to each other, I always see that missing third one in my minds eye. The pain will never go away, I am sure, but Eric's memory remains to remind us how precious our babies that are here with us are...
